Teaching

I have a well developed concept for teaching jazz piano, theory and improvisation. Most of my students are pianists, but I've also taught other instrumentalists. My only requirement is that you are serious about listening to a lot of jazz and dedicating enough time to make it worthwhile for both of us. You can reach me via email or phone.

Events

I'm often asked if I play for private events, and the answer is most definitely! We've played for Mayor Daley and US Senator Barack Obama, a number of foundations and corporations, as well as private affairs like weddings and parties. Here's a little trade secret: most of those big corporate wedding bands you've heard hire musicians who have never played together before, and they're almost always extremely unprepared and disorganized. They often have musicians sub in or out at the last minute which adds to the confusion. Not to mention the fact that they charge a small fortune because they have so much overhead! I can put together a group of the finest musicians in Chicago or New York, all of whom I've played countless gigs with, for almost any occasion. Feel free to call or email with any questions.
